Competitions Fun, Challenging & Rewarding | Racing and competition are important parts of the speed skating experience. After all, the sport is about speed! To compete successfully doesn't always mean being the first to cross the finish line. It also means achieving your personal best and developing the FUNdamental skills of speed skating along the way. Speed Skating “competitions” are a mix of fun, inter-club meets — focused on skill development within a team environment — and competitions that will better prepare skaters to compete at a higher level. So don’t be surprised if you see barrel-racing or counter-clockwise skating, along with traditional races, at some of our meets. Our goal is to offer a sport that is fun, challenging and rewarding for athletes of all ages and abilities. Questions about Competitions can be directed to our Competition Coordinator at competitions.mjspeedskating@gmail.com 2020-2021 Competition Event List October 24-25: Prairie Opener Short Track Meet, The Legends Centre, Warman, SK November 7-8: Fast as Fish Short Track Meet, Barkman Arena, Caronport, SK November 21-22: Regina Short Track Meet, DQ Arena at the Co-Operators, Regina, SK January 16-17, 2021: Saskatoon Long Track Meet January 30-31, 2021: Regina Long Track Meet February 6-7, 2021: Canadian Youth Long Track Championships, TBA February 27-28, 2021: Melville Short Track Meet, Horizon Credit Union Centre, Melville, SK March 20, 2021: Prince Albert Short Track Meet, Art Hauser Centre, Prince Albert, SK March 27-28, 2021: Canadian Youth Short Track Championships West, TBA |
